Your Guide to Conventions, GMRENCEN Style

In town for a convention? The GMRENCEN is here to help you navigate our building to make the most out of your stay. Move through Detroit like a pro with these helpful tips.

Where to eat

If it’s your first time here, Detroit is full of delectable cuisine and the GMRENCEN has many of those restaurants right here in the building. Enjoy an elegant evening at Andiamo, Joe Muer or Coach Insignia. For a laid back night out, Granite City and Volt are where you want to be. When you’re here during the day you have your choice of the many restaurants in the food court, Potbelly, or Panera Bread.

Where to get coffee

Many of us need coffee to survive and, luckily, the GMRENCEN has so many places to get coffee you’ll never be without a good cup of Joe. Stop in at Starbucks, Coffee Beanery, Panera Bread, or almost any other restaurant in the building to jump start your day.

Where to go for help

The GMRENCEN can be confusing for first-time visitors and there are many places to go for help. GMRENCEN guides are at each of the Customer Service desks and can answer almost any question about this building. There are also tours of the building Monday through Friday at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. The Customer Service desk in the Marriott is another good resource for hotel guests.

Never get turned around

Download the GMRENCEN Wayfinder app in the App Store and find exactly what you’re looking for in the building. The app will provide turn-by-turn directions to get you from point A to B.

If you leave something at home

Traveling can be a stressful experience and it’s easy to leave important things at home. When you need last minute emergency personal items, CVS is on Level 2 and will likely have what you’re looking for.

When you really need a charger

We live in a world where it can be detrimental if you misplace or break your charger. Don’t panic! Visit the AT&T or Verizon kiosks located on Level 1 for your electronic emergencies. Not only do they have chargers, they have temporary hot spots, tablets and accessories that you might need as well.

Getting around the city

When you’re visiting the GMRENCEN getting from building to building downtown is easy with the Detroit People Mover. You can find the Detroit People Mover station on the Level 2 right past the CVS. Rides around downtown cost just $0.75 and will take you to places such as COBO, Joe Louis arena and Greek Town.

You need to grab souvenirs

You can’t visit the Motor City and leave without souvenirs for your family and friends. Shop for Detroit gear, trinkets and memorabilia at Pure Detroit and Calumet.
