It’s time to kickoff summer with On the Plaza! Head to the GM Plaza as the GMRENCEN hosts 14 live performances every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the summer from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
On the Plaza is located on the shoreline of the Detroit River, right outside the GMRENCEN’s doors. This iconic part to the riverfront offers something for all ages and interests – so head down around lunch time to this signature city destination and enjoy amazing musicians with a spectacular view!

The Island Guys
The Island Guys will perform live with steel pan drums that transports audiences to paradise. This versatile band has incredible selections of Caribbean music as well as their own renditions of popular music with an island twist. Their steel drum music takes a variety of forms including jazz, Latin, Motown, salsa and Hawaiian-style.
Nick and Keelan
This Livonia based band will have you singing along to covers of your favorite songs. Nick and Keelan shine as acoustic masters and specialize in hits from every decade – so don’t be afraid to request a song.
Nicole New is known for her eclectic style of singing, that draws from her ability to sing many genres including jazz, pop, opera and musical theatre. She will serenade guests during lunch time with her sensitive and soulful voice.
Terry Stevenson captivates audiences with his outstanding vocals, guitar and keyboard expertise. He creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere, and is known for performing classics such as Sinatra, Motown, country, the Beatles and Jimmy Buffet.
Amy Andrews will bring stunning vocals, and twangy, folksy sound of the south during ‘On the Plaza’. She is known for her powerful and dramatically dynamic voice transitions, that can transport listeners with her performances.
Jake Reichbart will bring his guitar skills, drawing from any and every music style, to the Detroit riverfront. This soloist has been among the busiest guitarists in the greater Detroit area, performing alongside Motown legends and jazz greats of the city in over 4,600 live gigs.
Johnny Stevenson describes his music style as a combination of Johnny Cash and Dave Matthews – and is known for his unique vocals. This Michigan-based band will enthrall audiences with their classic rock n’ roll style.
