Michigan’s weather is finally breaking and summer is just getting started at the GMRENCEN. We are kicking off the summer with On the Plaza, a new program that includes entertainment, food trucks, pop-up shops and more. Activities will take place on the GM Plaza just outside the Wintergarden. On the Plaza begins June 9 and continues every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. through September 29. Here’s what you can expect when you check out On the Plaza:
Jam out On the Plaza
Come with an appetite
Hungry? A variety of different food trucks will rotate each week so grab a bite and head over to our new tables and chairs to enjoy. The food trucks will be stationed near the Beaubien Parking Garage on Atwater.
Shop On the Plaza
Local vendors Bon, Bon, Bon, Cyberoptix Tie Lab, McClary Bros., and Woodward Throwbacks are just some of the retailers making regular appearances on the plaza. In addition, GMRENCEN tenants such as Andiamo, Bozii, Corporate Mind & Body Spa, and Edible Arrangements will provide samples.
But wait, there’s more!
Have you ever wanted to rent a bike from Wheelhouse Detroit, go to a Zumba class on the GM Plaza, or play with a puppy during your lunch break? These activities, and more like them, will all be available for free during On the Plaza.
What’s coming up?
Country artist Matt Gary will treat tenants and visitors to an afternoon acoustic performance with hits like City Lights, Summertime, and It’s on You. Gary’s music fuses contemporary Nashville sounds with pop melodies and rock & roll energy.
