Does your kid rock? They could perform during the 2018 Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront Concert Series! WCSX and the GMRENCEN are excited to bring My Kid Rocks! back in 2018 after it had a successful inaugural year in 2017.
Parents with children between the ages of six and sixteen can enter their child or child’s band to win the chance to perform on the Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront stage! Submit a video of your child performing a classic rock song (bonus points if it is a song regularly featured on WCSX) before the entry deadline hits on June 22.
Live performance submission videos are preferred.
Voting will take place in two parts:
- Round One: Twenty qualifying bands or individuals will fight for the chance to move on! Round One voting begins at 5 p.m. June 22 and closes at 10 a.m. June 29. Ten bands will move on to Round Two.
- Round Two: The final round of voting commences at 5 p.m. June 29 and ends at 10 a.m. July 6. One winner will be selected from the top 10 that advanced from Round One.
2017 My Kid Rocks! Winner
My Kid Rocks! WCSX contest winner Morgan Traywick, 13, had the pleasure of opening for Wisteria on Friday, Aug. 18 before national-band Everclear took the stage for the last concert of the 2017 season.
Morgan competed against other young performers for the chance to rock out on our stage. In a fun coincidence, her music teacher, Adam Bedikian, also shared the Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront stage when his band Wisteria, opened for Everclear.
Contest details can be found here.
