Detroit Holiday Checklist: 2015 Edition

Check them all off – Santa status.

Check none – Enjoy your lump of coal, you Grinch.

Go Ice Skating in Campus Martius Park

Lace up with family and friends for a few laps around the rink. Between the holiday decorations and downtown lighting, it’s sure to be a magical experience.

Rink hours: Monday – Thursday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., Friday 11 a.m. – Midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. – Midnight, Sunday Noon – 8 p.m.

If skating isn’t your thing, we’d suggest Showcase D’ Holidays – music, food, and a hot chocolate cocktail bar – held on Friday and Saturday nights.

Selfies with Santa at the GMRENCEN

The holidays aren’t complete without a photo with the jolly man in the red suit. Luckily he’s staying in Detroit! Find him (and his red Corvette) in the GM Showroom on Level A of the GMRENCEN. Stop by for a free printed photo and all the selfies you can take.

Santa hours: Monday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., through Dec. 23

Eat Your Way through the Winter Collection at Bon Bon Bon

Quickly growing in popularity, these Detroit-born confections will have your taste buds singing “Joy to the World” after just the first bite. (Which is good, since they’re gone in two!)

Their winter line-up includes: Peppermint, Sugar Cookie, Lump of Coal, Gingerbread, Reindeer Food, Figgy Pudding, Pecan Pie and Cornbread & Honey.

Detroit store hours: Monday – Friday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday & Sunday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
